5* NBA WEST CONF GAME OF THE WEEK MAX BET The Denver Nuggets lost the series' first two games, but they have since shown the kind of pedigree that defines champions. The Minnesota Timberwolves must be devastated after letting a 2-0 lead slip away, and I don't think they'll have an answer tonight either. The Wolves have a lot of talent, and they'll be a force to be reckoned with for seasons to come, but this is not their time. I don't think we need the points so I'm happy to take Denver at plus-money. Timberwolves are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games as a home favorite. MIKE'S 4* RUNLINE PLAY OF THE DAY The Houston Astros are 6-1 in their last seven games and covered the runline in four of those wins. I don't think they'll have any intentions of slowing down as they're just heating up following a slow start to the year, and tonight they'll face a right-hander in Joey Estes who has only three MLB starts under his belt. Houston counters with Cristian Javier (2-1, 4.01 ERA) who had allowed only four runs over 23 innings in five starts before giving up seven in 1 1/3 innings in Detroit his last time out.
